part time jobs and internships

Work while you study

All four universities have active career and internship frameworks, connecting students with employers from the first year, not only at graduation. Many students in Timișoara already earn a salary before finishing their bachelor’s degree.

  • UPT Career Days — organised twice a year, directly on campus. Hundreds of companies, thousands of conversations, many leading to internship offers on the spot.
  • UVT internship platform — connects students with local and national employers through SAS, the Student Entrepreneurial Society, and the Strategic Partners Group.
  • UMF clinical partnerships — students in medicine, pharmacy and nursing work in real clinical environments from their first years of study. Projects such as OncoBridge and ORALERT 2025 involve students in active research and screening programmes.
  • Company laboratories at UPT — many university laboratories are equipped and co-operated by industry partners. Students work on real projects with real equipment.
  • USVT teaching farms and veterinary clinics — hands-on practice in agricultural farms and operational veterinary clinics throughout their studies

Entrepreneurship support

Timișoara’s universities not only help students find jobs, they also help them create jobs. UVT’s SAS start up funding programme is active. UPT Creative Campus incubates ideas in design, technology and social entrepreneurship. UMF’s SAStart Health programme supports students in turning healthcare innovation ideas into viable businesses.

The city’s post-2023 energy has further catalysed a growing ecosystem of startups and creative entrepreneurs, with co-working spaces, accelerators and a municipality that actively supports innovation.

Volunteering and civic engagement

UMF runs the programme VADA Volunteering in Academic Development Activities, giving students formal certification for involvement in research and teaching support activities, a real career advantage at graduation. UVT supports dozens of active student organisations and NGO partnerships. The city’s vibrant civil society means there is always a meaningful place where you can contribute.

After graduation

Where graduates go from Timișoara

A degree earned in Timișoara opens doors across Romania and Europe. Strong employer relationships mean that many graduates receive job offers before their final exams. And for those who want to leave, the qualifications carry international weight.

They stay in Timișoara

The city’s private sector is growing faster than the graduate supply in several fields. Roles in IT, healthcare and engineering offer salaries that, adjusted for cost of living, compare favourably with similar roles in Western Europe.

Professional access in the EU

Romanian university degrees are recognised across the European Union. UMF degrees are validated specifically for clinical practice in European healthcare systems. UVT’s UNITA network creates direct links with employers in southern and western Europe.

They continue in research

All four universities have active doctoral schools and research centres. UPT’s EUR 35 million investment creates doctoral positions in priority technology fields. UMF operates several clinical research centres with national and international funding.
