how to apply
Three steps towards your Timișoara chapter.
Step 1 — choose the university and programme
Use the programme search engine to explore all 200+ options. Filter by field, teaching language, study level and university. Each programme page links directly to the admission portal of the relevant university.
Step 2 — prepare your application file
Romanian and EU citizens usually apply through the university’s admission platform. Non-EU international students apply directly through the International Relations Office of each university.
Step 3 — submit, wait, confirm
Admission results are usually published in July and August for the October start. Non-EU students who need a visa should apply for the student visa, type D, as soon as they receive the acceptance letter. All four universities have International Offices that support you from arrival.
When does admission open?
Most programmes open admission in June and July for the October start. Some master’s programmes also have a spring intake in February. Check each university website for the exact 2026-2027 dates.
What documents are required?
In general, you will need:
- high school diploma (translated and legalised),
- transcript,
- passport copy,
- language certificate (for EN/FR programmes),
- motivation letter and
- ID type photo.
Is there an admission exam?
It depends on the university and programme. UMF requires a written admission exam for Medicine and Dental Medicine. Most UVT and UPT programmes admit students based on their high school average and/or a portfolio. Check the specific admission criteria of your chosen programme on the university website.
